Ansells Pride, Veiled Applause and Collateral Damage are the three to look at here with Ansells Pride set to follow up a pillar to post win last time from a good draw where he can do the same again. Veiled Applause was second at Doncaster last time, and he is a thoroughly consistent type, having finished in the frame more often than not. He can go well again here, running over a similar trip as when he was last successful at Windsor last season, though he may once again find one too good. Collateral Damage was putting a losing run of almost two years behind him when scoring on his re-appearance at Pontefract and he ran a great race in the Thirsk Hunt Cup to be a close fifth on Saturday. He is in good heart but top weight may prevent him winning. Trainer Bryan Smart reports that Ansells Pride does not like loose ground. It is therefore to his great credit that Ansells Pride made all on a testing surface at Musselburgh last time. He is seven pounds higher here, but he has a great wins to runs ratio and looks to have been under estimated by the handicapper. Ansells Pride looks set to keep on winning.
