DELPH CRESCENT looks to have leading claims after finding only one too good over track and trip last month. Richard Fahey’s charge can go one better and is preferred to Global Exceed, a runner-up over a shorter trip here in between a couple of modest efforts. Branscombe has something to prove over the distance having won a couple of sprints so far while Tigershark has failed to threaten in novice company and makes his handicap debut. Salazar has plenty to find with the selection and Royal Liberty continues to struggle.
Branscombe 25-1 (9-7) Awkwardly away in rear, never on terms, 8th of 10, 12 1/2l behind Garden Oasis (9-6) at Haydock 1m 2f hcp (5) gf in Jun.
Tigershark (IRE) 12-1 (9-2) Tracked leaders, took keen hold, pushed along 3f out, outpaced final 2f, 5th of 10, 8 1/4l behind Mutafani (9-9) at Thirsk 1m stks (5) gf in Jun.
Global Exceed 20-1 (8-11) In touch, ridden over 2f out, weakened final furlong, 7th of 10, 11 3/4l behind Vive La Difference (9-10) at Hamilton 1m hcp (4) sft in Jun.

Delph Crescent (IRE) 9-2 (8-7) Mid-division, driven and headway on outside 2f out, ridden to chase leaders over 1f out, went 2nd and kept on well inside final furlong, just held near finish, 2nd of 10, 1/2l behind Brother McGonagall (9-12) at Beverley 1m hcp (5) gd in Jun.
Royal Liberty 50-1 (9-0) Always behind, 7th of 9, 20 3/4l behind Arthenia (9-5) at Catterick 1m 4f hcp (5) gf in May.
