In depth

Verdict

Archie Watson's horses are flying so Dramatic Sands, a dual winner in his first season, is respected after a run at Kempton in June where he was in touch for a long way. Dancin Boy ran very well when runner-up here then went one better at Pontefract though that was a grade lower. He had Harvest Day back in third that day and should confirm the form. Poet's Dawn has won around here and is 1lb lower than his last victory at York but it's difficult to find fault with BOTTOM BAY, who has been progressing steadily and got off the mark at the last meeting here under Cieren Fallon. He can go in again though Kentuckyconnection and Twin Appeal fought out the finish of a 7f handicap at the same fixture and neither can be dismissed. Spiritofthenorth has been consistent in lower grade.
