Verdict

Plenty of these are winners over the course and distance including Thatcherite, who scored a year ago from just 1lb lower and a similar low draw. Singeur loves it around here though he went up 6lb for his victory at Redcar in May and might just be a few pounds high. Providing the going remains quick, Rusty Rocket is ideally berthed and in good form though he generally prefers a bit of cut in the ground. PEA SHOOTER was brought with a well-timed challenge to score at Ripon and should get a good position on the inside. Providing he avoids trouble in-running he can complete a double. Flash City, who was caught on the line in that latter event, has since won at Hamilton so the form looks strong. The veteran Ancient Cross gained his last victory in the 2013 Ayr Silver Cup from a mark of 97 and he's now down to 80, his lowest mark in over five years.
