ELECTIONEER is taken to build on a promising debut effort and he can get the better of Trade Secret and Crushing. Mark Johnston has his string in good form and our selection caught the eye on his debut when he stayed-on nicely once the penny had dropped. He should come on plenty for the experience and from a good high draw he looks the one to beat. Trade Secret ran well in a maiden at York last time when he chased home Falsasteen and if he can reproduce that form today then he would have a sound chance, although the draw could have been kinder. Crushing looks to be going the right way on the evidence of his run at Ripon last time when he chased home Danzoe. Trinder was a little disappointing last time but he had previously run well over today's trip so he could be worth another chance. Trainer John Quinn has his string in good form so Final Ovation is another to consider, but for the winner we will stick with the unexposed Electioneer.
