Not quite as open as it first looks this, and Master Mahogany looks capable of landing the prize, with Scriptorium, The Fun Merchant and The Way We Were others for the short list. Master Mahogany was an all out winner from Desert Hawk over track and trip last time, and despite a 2lb rise he looks capable of following up. Conditions will suit, his yard continues to go well, and there is nothing special about any of his opponents that would particularly scare us off. He has everything he needs in his favour and just needs to find a little more, though we advise only small stakes. Scriptorium has put in some good performances over 10 furlongs this campaign and should handle the track well. Whether this drop back in trip is to his liking though remains to be seen. Topweight The Way We Were would be better suited by further drying of the ground, but his second to Moscow Times over a mile at Salisbury last time gives him every chance here off the same mark and he is not pass over easily. The same can be said of The Fun Merchant, who has already enjoyed back to back wins over this trip earlier in the season and will clearly be no back number. However, he is 5lb higher than the best of those wins and may just be anchored at the moment, so we will take Master Mahogany to make it successive wins of his own.
