In depth

Verdict

Establish is starting to look a little quirky but was probably unlucky in a handicap at Lingfield on his reappearance as he was making up ground hand-over-fist in the closing stages. Bandoss was easy to back at Newmarket but showed some promise and will know more today. Lingfield scorer Ajax Tavern wasn’t beaten far at Haydock earlier this month but will again have to carry a 5lb penalty and is giving 10lb to DEFENCE GIRL. The Crisfords’ filly was no match for First Receiver at Kempton but the winner went on to finish second in the Hampton Court Stakes at Ascot so the form is decent.
