An apprentice handicap is not the easiest way to get out of trouble, but we do like the look of The Tyke, Umpa Loompa and Inwaan are also expected to be involved at the finish. The selection has had just the three runs to date all on the all-weather and although looking a shade uncomfortable on the surface he hasn't done too badly. He could be a much better horse on the turf and does get in here on a very low mark. Umpa Loompa hit winning form last time in a class five contest at Newcastle. He only just got up to beat Obe Royal and he may just struggle under a six pound penalty. Inwaan has some solid placed efforts to his name and has dropped down to a very tempting mark. Meanwhile Talcen Gwyn and Mr Loire are course and distance winners so have to be respected as well. However The Tyke may well have got in lightly here and he is our choice
