made most, ridden and ran on, readily
tracked winner, pushed along 3f out, kept on same pace final furlong
close up, ridden 2f out, kept on same pace final furlong
raced wide tracked leaders, headway to chase winner over 1f out, ridden and no impression final furlong
dwelt in touch in rear, pushed along 2f out, never a factor
A couple of these bid for hat-tricks but Storm Melody has been winning lower grade contests and may struggle against this better opposition. HERITAGE (NAP) is also raised in class but looks the more progressive having won with plenty to spare over track and trip last week. A penalty may not be enough to anchor Clive Cox’ filly in this and she’s preferred to Rose Berry. The latter ran well off a similar mark in Class 2 company at Chester recently while Miss Celestial represents last year’s winning yard and drops down in trip for only her second start of the year. Boom The Groom is a rare winner nowadays and slips further down the weights.
Miss Celestial (IRE) 33-1 (8-9) Keen to post, dismounted and led last furlong, slowly into stride, pulled hard in 3rd on inside, hung left and weakened 2f out, soon behind, eased, last of 7, 22 1/2l behind Space Blues (9-0) at Epsom 7f lst stks (1) gd in May.
Boom The Groom (IRE) 12-1 (11-3) Held up, headway halfway, never dangerous, 13th of 19, 9 1/2l behind Nibras Again (10-8) at York 5f hcp (3) gf in Jun.
Rose Berry 28-1 (9-6) Went right start, held up towards rear, headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, not trouble leaders, 4th of 8, 1 1/2l behind Pass The Gin (8-10) at Chester 6f hcp fll (2) gd in Jul.
Heritage Evensfav (9-5) Pressed leader, led 4f out, ridden clear over 1f out, comfortably, won at Bath 6f hcp fll (4) fm in Jul beating More Than Likely (9-2) by 2 3/4l, 4 ran.
Storm Melody 5-1 (9-12) Chased leader, hard driven to challenge over 1f out, every chance inside final furlong, ran on to lead closing stages, won at Salisbury 6f hcp (5) fm in Jul beating Delagate This Lord (9-11) by nk, 8 ran.
