Verdict

The lightly raced Ollie George is the interesting one here and he is selected ahead of Sugar Ray and the versatile Crossbow Creek. The last named may be adaptable regarding his style of racing and has been a grand servant to his connections. But he is also getting a little long in the tooth to be expecting to post an improved display; so he is reluctantly passed over today. Sugar Ray was an expensive purchaser and is related to some top class individuals. However, he is not in the same league as some of his family members and, even though it is noteworthy his connections are keeping him on the go as a four-year-old, he is never going to be a star pupil at Sir Michael Stoute's yard. So this appears to be a good starting point for Ollie George to get his 2008 campaign off to a flyer. The son of Fruits Of Love won this on his reappearance last year, so obviously goes well fresh. Which is a big positive in Ollie George's bid to overcome a 5lb higher mark as he bids for back-to-back wins this afternoon.
