A couple of interesting newcomers in Pelleas and Yeoman Leap, but we will side with the well exposed Emerald Wilderness. Mick Channon's colt has shown enough in three runs to suggest he can land a race of this nature. When stepped up to this trip last time he finished a gallant third to the smart Kid Mambo and a repeat of that effort should be good enough to win a class five maiden at Bath. Roger Charlton trains Pelleas, a well bred son of Mark Of Esteem out of a Rainbow Quest mare. Middle distances will be his forte next season, but a mile should suit at this stage of his career. Yeoman Leap has more of a sprint influence but there may be enough stamina in his blood to stay out this distance. Duty Free is another to consider as he made his debut in a hot race here recently. The market will prove invaluable here but without that knowledge we have to go with Emerald Wilderness.
