Although Southwell and Bath are totally different tracks and surfaces, SAUTE may still have what it takes to complete his third win in four starts here, while War Of The Roses and Party Palace are short-listed. The selection was a comfortable four-length winner over 1m 6f at Southwell last time, when racing from a mark 7lb lower than today's. He has to prove his fitness after a five-month break, and his win on Kempton's Polytrack suggests that he might also be able to act on fast ground like tonight's so we will side with him. War Of The Roses has ability although he is not bred for longer distances and his record when tried over them previously is not great. However, fast ground might enable him to give it a good try and he is respected. Party Palace has no stamina concerns, having already seen out the 2m 1f trip here well. Fast ground is ideal and with her trainer's runners in form she is much respected. Spinning Waters is more interesting now dropped slightly in trip and support for him would be very interesting, but we hope that Saute will have them all cooked.
