In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap here and many can be given chances on their best form but the principals look to be Tagula Blue, Welcome Signal and Parnassian and the tentative vote goes to Tagula Blue. The selection won well last time out when defeating Here To Me over course and distance and although he has a penalty for that win he won with plenty in hand and is taken to defy the handicapper under conditions that suit. Welcome Signal rates the main danger on his latest second behind Torquemada as he was doing all his best work at the finish and is sure to be suited by this longer trip. Parnassian is another that could go well on his best form but he just gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him when third behind High Reserve and for that reason he is opposed. Danifah was out paced over six furlongs last time and is sure to be suited by the step back up in trip so she is another with definite place claims. Of the remainder Smoothly Does It is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market while Del Mar Sunset is from a shrewd yard and is potentially well handicapped. But in a race that throws up more questions than answers for the winner we return to Tagula Blue.
