Verdict

Star Crowned gets the confident vote in this poor maiden with Fleeting Memory and Grave Matters rating the main dangers. The selection has had plenty of chances but was a fair fifth in a better race last time out behind Classic Punch. That form looks rock solid in the context of this race and he need only run up to that mark to score. Fleeting Memory rates the main danger on his latest third behind Quenched but he has already suggested he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip and for that reason he is opposed. Grave Matters is another that could go well as he has shown a modicum of ability in three runs to date but connections already seem to be struggling with him trip wise and he looks vulnerable on that basis. Of the remainder Chifney Rush is a well bred type who is clearly thought capable of better but for the winner we are happy to return to Star Crowned.
