    Verdict

Villarrica, Wester Lodge and Love Always look to be the leading lights in this handicap and the narrow vote is given to Villarica. The selection was returning from a long break when beating Wester House at Warwick back in June. She has been given a breather since that run which should eliminate the possibility of her bouncing today and she should take plenty of beating. Wester Lodge is respected as a live danger to our selection as this strapping colt won over this course and distance last time when beating Germanicus. That was a good effort and a reproduction of that performance today would see him go close. Love Always won at Brighton last time so she should handle today's track and this improving filly is entitled to go well, but she will need to improve to get competitive in this more difficult race. Pagan Sword would have claims on the pick of his form but he is more exposed than some of these and for the winner we will stick with Villarica.
