There are very few that you can give a chance to here, these being Mantras, Doof, Thrashing and Fire Ranger, with the vote going to Mantras. On official ratings, the selection comes into the argument, and he also comes here on the back of a good second to Silence Reigns at Worcester. If in the same type of form, he should go well. Doof won here last season over further from a mark of 103. A repeat of that would see him romp home but, of course, he has failed to come up with the goods lately, but should still be very competitive today. Thrashing won off 98 last October, so the same applies to him also. Fire Ranger won a similar event at Stratford last time, but he will need to improve again if official ratings are to be believed. Wozzeck gives the impression that he too might run well at this level, while Brief Decline is one of those that should be given some consideration. Finally, Silver Emperor drops to this grade for the first time and might have better to come, while stablemate Garrigon has shown a modicum of ability but, for the selection, we return to Mantras.
