In depth

Verdict

The presence of Madame Maxi virtually ensures a decent pace if she runs her usual race, which can set things up for Pay The Silver, who is set to encounter his ideal conditions. The Ian Woods-trained gelding acts well on an undulating surface and will be a lot sharper after a couple of pipe-openers this season. Ryan Moore takes 3lb off his back and a bold show is expected from him. Voice Mail, Zafarsha and Mobo Baco are hard to split for the places but a more adventurous each way selection could be the enigmatic In Xanadu, who is a much better horse than his form figures suggest.
