In a very weak handicap, we'll take a chance on Aoninch living up to the promise she showed a couple of starts ago at Windsor; Hoh Viss, Marabello and Skiff should prove best of the rest. Skiff has more scope than most of these and would have strong claims on her second to Weqaar here in April. However, she has run below that form on her two subsequent outings and although she starts on a reasonable handicap mark and has the assistance of Darryll Holland in the saddle, she may not represent great value here. Marabello is still a maiden but Andrew Balding's gelding has been tumbling down the handicap this year. His latest start at Salisbury can be forgiven as the trip was too far for him, but he would have claims on his earlier fourth in a course and distance handicap and cannot be entirely ruled out here. Hoh Viss put up an improved effort to chase home Wiggy Smith at Newbury last time and although three pounds higher today, this is a weaker race so he should not be too far away. But our selection, in the hope of finding some value, is Nerys Dutfield's Aoninch. This Inchinor filly put up a much-improved effort when third at Windsor in June, and the form of that race looks solid, with both the first and fourth having won since. She was badly hampered on her only start since then, and as such was not disgraced in finishing seventh of 19 in a better race than this. This extra distance should prove ideal and Aoninch is taken to get off the mark here.
