This race is not entirely straightforward and maybe Powerful Parrish can get the better of Mouftari but the betting might also provide a number of clues for would-be punters. The selection cost $90,000 and showed that she was going the right way when second to Game Dame, a stablemate of Mouftari, at Chepstow last time, suggesting that a step up in trip was required. She gets that today and should go well. Mouftari cost $200,000 and has suggested ability at distances between eight and 10 furlongs. He was a decent fourth to Iktitaf at Chester two runs ago over today's trip, one that might suit him best for now as he did not seem to quite get home last time. Sunday City cost 87,000,000 yen as a yearling so is clearly bred to be better than he has so far shown, but he did not look completely straightforward at Pontefract last time when tried in a visor and is possibly not one to take a short price about. Physically, there is something to like about Vamp and she is going the right way judged on her Folkestone third last time, when one of Sir Michael Stoute's was second. The champion trainer saddles Wedding Cake here. The mile that she ran over when unplaced at Windsor on her debut was inadequate and she should come into her own at middle-distances, if breeding is any guide. As with a number of these, the betting will provide us with clues but, without that knowledge, we will side with Powerful Parish.
