The experienced horses appear to be nothing special, and so we will put this between the two newcomers Choir Practice and Violette, with the first named getting the verdict, Straight As A Die looks the pick of the others. John Gosden's juveniles are in good form this season and Choir Practice looks the part on paper. Violette is trained by Sir Mark Prescott who's horses do start to hit form in the height of summer. She is a superbly bred daughter of Observatory and is related to numerous winners including Nell Gwyn winner Silcas Gift. Choir Practice is by Derby winner Benny The Dip, so will no doubt get further in time, however there is plenty of speed on the dams side and if the market speaks in her favour she should be the one to be on. Straight As A Die was a promising second over the five furling trip here last time and should put the experience to good use. She's Minnie should improve on her debut effort and may prove best of the remainder, but in a race where the market will give many clues Choir Practice is the pick.
