An uninspiring maiden can go to Perfect Night whose recent second entitles her to preference over Jumhoor, with Young Safawan best of the remainder. Perfect Night returned to the fray with an encouraging effort behind the useful Kalaman at Newbury, and has since shaped much better on this course behind Day Fort than when down the field at Kempton on his handicap bow. He is no world beater but should still have the measure of the others here, including Jumhoor, second to Scotland The Brave at Redcar before floundering in the softer conditions at Lingfield next time. Young Safawan showed a bit of promise behind Flowerdrum at Leicester and can reach the frame but the rest make little appeal.
