Verdict

ESPY is the suggestion in a tight handicap in which Blue Jack and Artistic License should show up prominently. Sylvester Kirk's gelding has been off the track since finishing fourth at Haydock at the end of May but he returns at a time when his yard is going well. He made rapid strides in a short space of time last season and is taken to take up from where he left off. Blue Jack deserves to have won more races than he has but the handicapper appeared to have his measure last season and he wasn't rewarded for a string of sound efforts. He's capable of winning this if everything falls into the right place and similar comments can be applied to Artistic License whose last victory came in a race in which Blue Jack finished fourth. Those are the three that make most appeal to our eye and the one that we'll be keeping a close eye on is Espy.
