In depth

Verdict

Caledonia Laird has a course and distance victory to his credit but does better at Wolverhampton these days. Coachella is another with a track and trip success having scored on very fast ground in June though that was in first-time blinkers and he hasn't done as well subsequently. FERRIER disappointed for the Prescott yard but ran much better on her first start for Ian Williams at Beverley, where she would have been even closer if getting the run of the race. She's been dropped a couple of pounds and Richard Kingscote takes over from an apprentice so she can gain her first victory. Unbridled Spirit began the season on an 11lb higher mark and only faded close home over 1m2f at Chepstow so should get competitive along with With Approval, who was in very good form in the spring and didn't produce his running at Brighton last time.
