New tactics were tried on PONT VERT (NAP) at Leicester where he made all and battled on strongly to beat short-priced favourite Gold Arrow, who has won his last two and will be given a mark in the 80s when reassessed. Eve Johnson Houghton's filly looks thrown in off 72 on that form. London Rock had looked a likely future winner when runner-up at Ffos Las but didn't run up to that form here last time while Michaels Choice didn't appear to appreciate ground with give at Sandown. Nananita hasn't been finding much at the business end but Tony Carroll's horses continue to run well and Second Collection showed a bit more dash at Wolverhampton.
