In depth

Verdict

An interesting maiden for the track with newcomers representing yards well capable of readying one first time. The Hannon team fires two darts, with Marroof, a son of Blue Point, making most appeal of the pair, whilst HAPPY TEARS has an appealing sprint pedigree and Connor Planas takes a very useful 5lb off the Boughey filly, who receives 10lb from the colts with the fillies' allowance added to the Planas claim. She may just make that significant weight differential count. Mullins Beach has experience but was beaten 21 lengths on debut, whereas Succession rates a major danger. Beaten under six lengths on debut in what is traditionally a good juvenile contest at Newbury, the son of Showcasing showed plenty of early dash that day and will benefit considerably from the experience.
