Verdict

A valuable pot to play for but GOLDEN TAIPAN looked as good as ever when seeing off rivals at Perth last month and Fergal O’Brien’s eight-year-old is sure to be popular once again. Diablo De Rouhet had his first run for 880 days at Uttoxeter so it will be a good training performance for Nicky Henderson to have him cherry ripe for this engagement. Neville’s Cross beat a useful sort at Kempton in May though he has struggled to make much impact in subsequent starts. Red Happy had a bad day at the office at Southwell last time while El Paso Wood ran too badly to be true at Uttoxeter last week but connections elect to give him a quick turnaround.
