In depth

Verdict

Kilcullen Flem has scored between the flags and has performed well enough in three starts over hurdles to be given a good chance here though BOY IN A BENTLEY looks the one to be on. Kim Bailey's charge did well enough in a couple of bumpers last spring to suggest he wouldn't be long winning over hurdles and made a promising start at Huntingdon last month when only just failing to hold off the short-priced favourite Board Of Trade. Armarissis was having his eleventh start between the flags in Ireland when dead-heating at Dromahane two years ago and hasn't run since but Mahler Lad is the interesting one in the race. He beat the high-class Bellshill in a point in Ireland two years ago but something has obviously gone amiss as he was pulled up on his hurdling debut at Kelso in December.
