In depth

Verdict

SPIRIT OF HALE was never really travelling on good going at Sedgefield last month but will be much better suited by today’s surface and he was a winner here back in 2018 off a much higher mark. Southern Girl is making a debut over fences but none of the others can be ruled out, though Furius De Ciergues has the best recent form having won at Sedgefield and Stratford since the turn of the year. He’s gone up another 7lb but is the youngest in this line-up.
