Verdict
A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Coeur d'Alene, Professor Hegarty and Lusaka de Pembo and the vote is given to the last named. The selection was a fair second behind Donovan last time out. That form looks solid and off the same mark here he looks a value bet in an open affair. Coeur d'Alene rates the main danger on his latest second behind Win A Rose. However he travels well in his races but often finds less than expected off the bridle and he is taken on with this in mind. Professor Hegarty is another that could go well on his latest third behind Blue Sovereign but he just gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him on that occasion and he is taken on with this in mind. Blaze Ahead is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is another that is hard to win with Amazing Valour hails from a yard in top form but he may just need the run after a 435 day break. Of the remainder Barracat was second behind Professor Hegarty and is another with place claims but in a race where few can be ruled out Lusaka de Pembo gets our vote.
