In depth

Verdict

Maskada was well ahead of Schiaparannie when landing a mares’ handicap hurdle at Newbury in January and was only headed two out on her chasing bow at Uttoxeter. She is likely to build on that experience here but THE GLANCING QUEEN would have been superior over hurdles, placing in the Challow Hurdle last season and finishing fifth in the Dawn Run at Cheltenham later. She has also won around here over the smaller obstacles and could be the one to beat if her jumping holds up. Emmas Joy won three times over timber last term, including a Grade 2 at Warwick, so looks a threat while Could Be Trouble has won her last three over hurdles. None of the others can be dismissed out of hand in a potentially-informative contest.
