Verdict
A difficult race in which Power Unit is marginally preferred to Knight's Emperor and Young Owen. Power Unit's form may look fairly ordinary but that would not show how unlucky he was at Stratford when hampered at a vital stage. The fact that he hails from an unfashionable yard will mean he will start a few points bigger than he should so we will take advantage. Knight's Emperor is difficult to catch right and even the booking of Tony McCoy isn't enough to divert attentions from a whole catalogue of pulled ups and falls. Young Owen probably found 2m5f too far on his last start and today's trip should suit. Although his chasing form has been modest, his hurdling starts suggest he has enough ability to get competitive. New Bird takes a drop in grade after competing unsuccessfully in big handicaps. Power Unit gets our verdict in the most difficult race on the card.
