    Verdict

HERMANUS had only four rivals at Cartmel last month but she jumped well and never looked like being caught. She’ only been raised 4lb and Becky Smith’s claim takes care of that so Stef Keniry’s mare can double her tally over hurdles if the headgear works a second time. Wazowski is still 5lb higher than when scoring at Sedgefield in January but hasn’t run badly in two starts since returning from a break and should be approaching peak fitness now. Oakmont’s two runs in handicaps have shown promise and Richard Johnson takes over the reins but Get Ready Freddy has not shone in this grade in the past. Thahab Ifraj, second to a subsequent winner at Stratford, and St George's Oval look the pick of the remainder.
