In depth

Verdict

Coole Cody earned a mark of 144 over hurdles after completing a hat-trick in a Cheltenham handicap a year ago. He led for a long way before weakening on his chasing debut at Ffos Las and will have come on nicely for the run. Euxton Lane completed a double over timber in March before a decent effort in an Aintree Grade 1. He made a reasonable start over fences at Carlisle and has much more to offer. BLU CAVALIER completed a hat-trick over timber in the spring before a shock defeat at Newton Abbot. His pedigree is all about jumping fences and he can make a successful start. Jerrysback, unbeaten in two starts over hurdles early last year, was returning from a long break when well beaten on his chasing debut at Cheltenham but looks certain to do better while Tommy Rapper, three times a winner over timber, will have come on markedly for his chasing debut at Chepstow.
