Verdict

There was plenty to like about the way that Hermano Cordobes won at Newton Abbot last time and the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding is taken to follow up that success, getting the verdict ahead of Another Storm and Well Saved. The last mentioned disappointed at Newton Abbot himself last time but Jonjo O'Neill's gelding has claims on earlier form so cannot be discounted. Frank Jordan's Monsieur Georges ran better at Uttoxeter last time but needs to improve again to trouble the judge, while Ferdy Murphy's Bonneta has yet to even be placed let alone win a race so looks best watched. Peter Bowen has his string in good order so Gunnabelil has to be respected but she failed to progress from her Plumpton success in May when last seen later that month and looks best watched on her first start since then. Another Storm looks to be going the right way judged by her recent run at Uttoxeter and she has to be considered but it is hard to get away from Hermano Cordobes, who gets the vote.
