Verdict

A maximum field here but it's difficult to get away from the chances of Ancient Sands and LUIMNEACH ABU. The former has been raised 7lb for his Down Royal victory at the end of last month but has since run two very good races on the Flat and won't go down without a fight. However, the latter is also in excellent shape and has been narrowly beaten on his two latest starts over timber, the last on Saturday where he gave supporters of the well-supported Quick Jack a fright, so he looks the one to be on. The Hamptons hasn't shown much for some time but is just the type to go well at a big price while Sweetheart Susan, a comfortable winner at Roscommon in July, has had a break since a poor effort at Cork in early August and could bounce back to form.
