In depth

Verdict

Some smart performers line up for this moderate prize, especially Universal Truth, who returns after a long break. Dermot Weld's charge goes well fresh as he's demonstrated several times in the past but he wasn't in the best of form when last seen in the autumn and meets race-fit rivals. PASSAGE VENDOME didn't appear quite at his best behind Mount Colah at Sligo though he was beginning to make inroads when impeded at a crucial stage. In the belief that he would have finished much closer, and taken care of eventual runner-up Audrelles Lad, he's handed the vote to gain compensation. West Of The Border was having his first start since 2010 at Bellewstown a couple of weeks ago and will be better for that run.
