Allora Yeats was a 50/1 chance for the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh but ran a blinder to finish second to Beyond Happy though a 9lb rise looks harsh. Pin Your Hopes has only won on the all-weather though has been going well in much stronger company than this but the lightly-raced PHOENIX COWBOY looks the type to go on to better things. Ger Lyons' charge was returning from almost a year off when beating a much better field than usual for a maiden over the course and distance last month and can continue to rise through the ranks. Only Sky had looked a likely future winner when a close fifth at the Curragh but then ran poorly on her handicap debut here.
