In depth

Verdict

The veteran Drummullagh Rocky had dropped to the basement mark when just hanging on over 2m2f at Downpatrick and a 3lb rise shouldn't prevent another big effort over this shorter trip. Rippon Lodge, who started favourite after a victory over 2m6f at Tramore, fell four out and may find this on the short side. Ricky Langford has mainly been racing over timber though ran well over fences at Wexford but the vote goes to OLD TOWN ROAD. Still a maiden after 21 starts, he was having only his fourth run over fences when just failing to make all over 2m4f at Killarney and this looks his chance to get off the mark.
