In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Armaguedon runs on his first start of the campaign but Len Lungo's runners have tended to be in need of their first start so he may be best watched and preference is for the in-form Jefertiti, who gets the vote ahead of It's Bertie. The selection has won his last two starts, latterly when beating Silver Sedge (a good winner since) at Newcastle; he has solid claims off just a 3lb higher mark. Stormy Beech has been in good form of late but may now be a shade high in the weights, while Stormy Lord has slipped to a decent mark but is hard to back with confidence on the form that he showed when last seen. Sue Smith's It's Bertie looks to be going the right way and has to be of interest off just a 5lb higher mark than when scoring at Carlisle last time. Jefertiti's form is rock solid though and he is taken to complete a hat trick.
