Al Khan was making his debut for David O'Meara, his sixth trainer, when landing a higher-class race at Catterick on Wednesday and comes here with a penalty. He'll make a bold bid unless the ground eases. Twin Appeal won three of his last four last summer and though returning from a long lay-off it will be a surprise if he doesn't add to his tally this campaign. Karaka Jack wins his share of races and landed a class 2 handicap at Recdar on October before finding soft ground against him on a return visit. He's won first-time-back in the past so a long absence shouldn't be a problem. REPETITION was in superb form in the early part of last year winning five times before mid-July. He hasn't been running well at Southwell but back on today's surface he can get back to winning ways. Beautiful Stranger gained his only Turf victory on this track though over a mile but Marmarus would have an obvious chance if able to transfer his all-weather form to turf on his first start for Dandy Nicholls.
