A weak race and it is with some trepidation that we select SOLWAY ALLY ahead of Something Silver, Rawaaj and Pay On. Only one horse comes here on the back of a run where they finished within 15 lengths of the winner (Something Silver), stressing the low quality of fayre on offer. However Solway Ally has shaped with promise before and is now back up to a more suitable trip than at Sedgefield earlier this month. She is able to race off a mark of 90 and with the ground in her favour she should run well. Something Silver is a course and distance winner and Jim Goldie's runner ran well in defeat over fences here last time out. He looks fairly treated on a mark of 89 back over hurdles and his jockey has ridden him before so his 8lb claim in this race may be invaluable. Hazy Oaks has had a poor year but she remains capable of better off this mark of 88, Boyoboy is unexposed and is interesting as he drops in grade, whilst a similar comment applies to Papa Drew especially if there is some market support. Manoubi is getting on a bit but he continues to hold his form fairly well and is not discounted back over hurdles, Ardesia shaped with more promise last time at Newcastle, whilst Rawaaj needs a market check as a tongue tie is added for this drop in grade. At a price, Mr Midas could run into a place, however the narrow vote is given to Solway Ally.
