Digital gets the nod over Funfair Wane, Quicks The Word and Rondo to name but a few in a wide-open finale. The veteran Digital has been costly to follow in the past, and has not got his head in front for well over a year now. However, he has threatened to come good on more than one occasion, and once again flattered at Pontefract on Friday evening. Turnrd out quickly again here, he is well handicapped on form of old and is given another opportunity to turn back the clock. Former Ayr Gold Cup winner Funfair Wane is on a downward spiral these days and needs things his own way. He did not make the most of a good opportunity in a Catterick seller five days ago, and is not one to rely on, although he does have the ability to win a race of this nature. Quicks The Word won well from out of the handicap here a fortnight ago and so has to be given a favourable mention, while recent Hamilton winner Rondo is very well handicapped still, and can also go well. This is a hard one to call, and only a modest vote goes to Digital.
