Northern Dare can defy topweight ahead of the likes of Ishibee, Dendor and Rue Soleil. A big field assembles for the penultimate event on the card, but hopefully Northern Dare will see them all off. The Dandy Nicholls inmate has already won two of his six career starts, including over five furlongs here last week when coming home three-lengths to the good over his rivals. Now that he has found his form, the gelding can pay to support again, with a 6lb penalty not too prohibitive. Ishibee was caught close home at Catterick last time, and although that was only a seller, her stable seems in good heart at present, while Dendor is still a maiden but is at the right end of the handicap. Rue Soleil finally came good at the 18th time of asking at Hamilton, and may now start to bloom, but we are happy to side with the progressive Northern Dare.
