In depth

Verdict

On first glance this might look like a difficult task for Rose D'April to defy a double penalty, however the six-year-old has been very impressive in two wins over hurdles despite a disappointing performance in between. Len Lungo holds this gelding in high regard and although his victories have come in modest events he clearly has improvement to come and is the one to beat. Mister Friday is the obvious danger as a former Irish pointer who showed plenty of ability last time on just his second start in Britain. A reproduction of that should see him go close although it is likely that there is more to come over fences and over further. Midnight Creek was disappointing last time out and although previous efforts would see him go close here he is not one to place too much faith in. Of the rest Spider Music looks a live each-way hope on his bumper form last season. He got bogged down on his hurdling debut and he is likely to better suited by this type of ground.
