      Verdict

Quite a strong race for the grade and plenty of them have claims of one sort or another. However, Tap returns to a more suitable trip here and he is given the nod to extend his run of good form. Skylark and Taggerty head a long list of dangers; with Lion's Domain also coming into the reckoning despite having the worst of the draw to contend with. But, as there is plenty of pace amongst the high numbers, it would be no surprise to see him go close again today. But Tap, who has held held his form well since May, is a tough customer to deal with on his day and his willingness for a battle is always a good attribute to side with in races of this nature. A move for the locally-trained Ryefield will also be interesting though.
