Verdict

Elvis Mail was beaten by Cooper's Cross and Cap Du Nord in the Sky Bet at Doncaster in January but took a further step in distance in his stride last time at Kelso, accounting for favourite Half Shot when apparently having plenty more in the locker. If he stays, he could go well. Empire Steel rallied to collar the odds-on Le Milos at Kelso but a 4lb rise looks harsh. Kitty's Light is 3lb lower than when second in this last year, despite another fine staying performance when landing the Eider in February. He’s unlikely to be far away again and the useful Monbeg Genius was ahead of Threeunderthrufive when third behind last Saturday’s Grand National hero Corach Rambler in the Ultima at Cheltenham. Your Own Story has an abundance of stamina and could give the Lucinda Russell stable a famous National double but the fast-improving FAMOUS BRIDGE is just as interesting. He’s still not foot-perfect but has begun to fulfil his potential over fences recently and having Brian Hughes doing the steering is hardly a negative.
