        Verdict

Forrest Flyer has been running consistently well this term and should again be thereabouts but Linda Perratt's gelding may be a shade high in the weights so preference is for Fistral, who gets the vote over Kyber. The last mentioned probably found the going too testing here last time and has solid claims provided that the rain does not fall again. The ex-Italian Signalman has only had the one run and makes his debut for Peter Monteith in a handicap off a lowly mark of just 47 and looks best watched, while Inch High has a poor strike-rate and is hard to recommend. The vote though goes to Peter Niven's Fistral, who has shown improved form of late over hurdles and back on the flat when successful in races at Wetherby and Catterick respectively. A 5lb rise for the Catterick success looks harsh but Fistral is in better form than his rivals and he looks the one they all have to beat.
