Gabrial didn’t stay 1m4f at Chester last Saturday but this trip suits Richard Fahey’s old timer nowadays and he’ll handle conditions better than most. Aspetar surrendered his unbeaten record in a Group 2 at Chantilly in June and hasn’t been seen since. But he looked one to follow when scoring in this grade at Goodwood in the spring and shouldn’t be far away if fully wound-up. ESCALATOR steps up from handicap company but was very impressive over this trip at Goodwood last month on similar going. He’ll need to improve again to win this but further progress is almost guaranteed. Dubai Horizon has won his last two, including one over course and distance, and shouldn’t be underestimated while Air Pilot won a Group 2 and a Group 3 in France in the spring, though returns from a break and carries a penalty. Morando ran well on his reappearance at Sandown but has not been as impressive the last twice.
