This looks a very tight handicap so the presence of Joe Doyle with his 5lb claim on board Evanescent should enable him to get into the frame. However, he was beaten three lengths by OUR BOY JACK over the course and distance on soft ground in October and Richard Fahey's charge can confirm the form after having raced in better company subsequently. Regal Dan's only victory came in 2012 but he's so consistent that the assessor can't drop him in the ratings and his best form is on fast ground. The lightly-raced Art Obsession was progressing very well when last seen in September and should have a good season while Karaka Jack completed a Redcar double late last summer, though both victories were over a mile on quick ground.
