Several of these were beaten in this last year including last week’s winner at the Curragh, Mr Lupton. The latter and Stone Of Destiny had earlier finished behind NAHAARR in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood when William Haggas' colt returned a losing favourite. But he gets another chance on today’s slower ground with scope for further progress. Gulliver is preferred of his yard’s four runners having finished third in last season’s renewal with the in-form Staxton and this year’s Wokingham winner Hey Jonesy behind while Bielsa may well improve on his second start after wind surgery. Headgear is applied to Wise Counsel but Spanish City is preferred having placed in the Wokingham earlier and running well again back at Ascot last time. Air Raid posted his best effort for a while at Hamilton recently and won’t mind any cut in the ground.
